On the nose this wine shows intense Merlot-derived black cherry and blackcurrant aromas. A perfumed lift is layered with wet tobacco leaf and sandalwood. A powerful entry shows dark fruit supported by firm, chalky tannins and a core of fresh red fruit and fennel bulb. The finish lingers with savoury, brooding notes of subtle spice.
